Correction
A sharp but ordinary pullback — in crypto, 10–30% drops routinely punctuate even the strongest uptrends.
A correction is a price decline within a larger trend — conventionally 10%+ in stocks. Crypto’s higher volatility resets the scale: Bitcoin routinely corrected 20–30% during its historic bull runs, and altcoins deeper still, without the underlying uptrend breaking.
The practical problem is that corrections and the start of a bear market look identical in week one. Nobody reliably distinguishes them in real time — which is why position sizing, rather than prediction, is the tool that keeps corrections survivable and forced selling off the table.
